Stoeger side by sides

I have a friend who says that sometimes his new stoeger will double fire and that the firing pin does not always hit the rpimer with enough force to set it off. Has anyone else had these problems or others. I was thinking on buying the combo gun but not if they are not reliable.

The fact that a friend has a Stoeger SXS that has problems does not mean they are unreliable. The Stoeger SXS is one of the most used SXS in Cowboy action shootingand they are reliable or no body would use them. They do need to be tuned a little for this style of shooting, but very little of the tuning is for reliablity , it is for easy and speed of opening and closing to make fast reloads. To find tune up tips for a Stoeger SXS goto www.marauder.homestead.com/cowboy.html then goto IRONS there may or may not be something there to help your friend. If your friends Stoeger is new with those problems it should go back to the store it came from to be repaired or replaced, if it won't go off when you pull the trigger and at other times both barrels go off at once, it is unsafe.
