Hey there a friend of mine is looking for a cheap but reliable, well shooting O/U
We were looking at the wholesalesports catalogue and thought that the
Stoger condor might be exactly what he needs. Looking at the combo with the 20 ga and 12ga barrels for $699. Let me first state he is not overly concerned with finnish as it will be a field gun for phesant, quail etc.
Also figured if he ever wanted to shoot sporting clays the 12ga would do the trick. Keep in mind to him the best gun in the world is an 870. So if it is as reliable as one of those we are in business.
If anyone out there can comment on theirs that would be just great.
Where is stoger made anyways? If this is a bad choice compared to another budget O/U make a better suggestion please. Primarily one in 20ga.
Thanks

My brother in law has one that he uses for trap. The guns barrel seems to get surface rust very easily. Even just sitting in his cabinet. His gun is about 4 years old. I would say if your going to get one of these guns for field use to keep it clean and oiled well. Personally they don't fit me.. But everyone is different.
Good luck on your search.

Stoeger Condor

Ialso have one and am quite happy with it Ian.It came with a set of 12 and 20 gauge barrels, some type of promotion I guess.Anyhow,500 or so shells later and never had a w.t.f or anything.Points nice, reliable and from two arms length,it could pass for a o/u of twice the pedigree. p.s you won't cringe shooting clays in the snow or rain either.

Thanks for the info....
Yeah i know there are better guns. If it was me i would save and buy a citori, but i would be looking for a whole different gun.
Rob does not want to spend 1000+ he is only looking to spend 500 but the deal on the combo looks so good. Like i said field gun, something to toss in a boat, have on an ATV and abuse as much as his 870. Mabey take to the range but thats not why he wants it,

The rust may be a concern though, any one else having this problem?
Ive seen his cabinet and things looked pretty dry.
Thanks again.

My brother has had one for many years. Excellent gun for the money, shoots to point of aim never any kind of problem. Never worry about it getting dirty or scratched. For a feild gun its great, no Citori but good solid gun.

a good solid gun is all that is needed.
Thanks for the info guys...Think i learned what i needed. It will work out fine for him but still its no citori. Like i said he is not spending much so it will not be a citiori unless you can get one for less that 700 in 20.
