It was a 33 flavours Ice cream shop - with high end shotguns instead of ice cream. Perazzi, Beretta, Caesar Guerini, Browning and Blaser. An experience that will not happen often, but OH so much fun.

Congrats on the new Clays gun . I am sure that you will love the Blaser F3.......With all those choices, what were the deciding factors ???

Deciding was not at all easy. Didn't want Browning or Beretta. The Perazzis were priced in USD and closing in on 20K after exchange. Beautiful guns, but more than double the price of the others would be hard to justify. The CGs were beautiful. The Magnus engraving was stunning but the wood not quite there. The Maxum engraving was different but equally stunning and the wood was gorgeous - maybe the best on the whole table - but the wide frame was bothering me. I waffled for quite a while between that and the F3. Any of those guns would give me a lifetime of use. Great pride in ownership for any of them. This Blaser included upgraded wood - gold plate on the model badge - and adjustable comb. It also sports a unique firing mechanism that is supposed to improve lock time noticeably. Trigger was important to me so that was a bonus - not that the others were lacking in that department at all.

When we went to choose our Golden Retriever, I couldn't choose and came home with two. While we have never regretted that decision, Marilyn made it clear that was not an option with the shotgun.

No mention of Krieghoff, did they not have any in stock?

Nice choice. They are all so good these days. Why was it that you didn’t want a Browning or Beretta?

I figured the F3 and Blaser would have been a boom here but I have yet to see one in the flesh shooting. Kinda sad. I figured I’d maybe try one eventually as well. I wouldn’t mind having a backup gun eventually.

(By that I meant second gun. Just in case one acts up at a competition)

Where did you purchase? In Canada or stateside?

Love my F3 Supertrap. Great guns. I ordered mine through a Canadian dealer and waited over a year for delivery.

They are around. One on my squad for the Winter Classic - and at least two others are waiting on delivery. Welcome to try it if you get up Silver Willow way.

As for Browning and Beretta, they are great guns that serve many people very well. It's just personal. I've owned Brownings - BPS Trap - Citori - shot a borrowed BT99 for a while - even a BBR and a BLR - and none of them felt right. As for the the Beretta, I picked up a Silver Pigeon in the pro shop and just knew we would not get along well. All the guns I handled yesterday felt quick and responsive. I am not of typical build.

All warranty work is through MDC. Either direct or through the seller. Clearly though, I will not live long enough to need repairs on this gun. <grin>

My plan when I purchased my K-20 was to keep it until I give up shooting, but at 10,000 rounds per year, I do expect to be replacing some springs and possibly firing pins.

Been there done that with dogs......My wife and I went to pick up one English Setter......Came home with two !!

I live near the Vermont border and most of my registered Sporting Clay targets are in New England States......Vermont ,New Hampshire and Maine. I see lots of great AA and Master Class shooters with F3 guns......Must be their gun of choice for good reason. Not sure what class you are in now, but I predict a move up next season.
