On Monday, July 10th there will be a Stop the Bleed course taught by the fantastic instructors from First Aid Plus!

Date: Monday, July 10th
Location: 301 Moodie Drive, Ottawa, ON
Cost: $20.00

Stop the Bleed is a course designed by the American College of Surgeons and the Hartford Consensus to teach individuals how to implement proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use dressings and tourniquets.

You do not need to have your Standard First Aid to take the course. If you do have your Standard First Aid, the Stop the Bleed course will further enhance your emergency first aid knowledge.

This course is open to students and members of the general community.

I contacted the instructional company and they added me to the course list. Several shooters, industry workers and ordinary people in the class. Three women too. Was it worth the $20? Yes, if only to be reminded of the changes to first aid protocols and how to stop a major bleed. Good instructor and good class participation.

I only got wind of the course here but it was too late. Contact the company. Their store, office and classroom are on the ground floor of one of those angled technically complicated buildings at the north end of Moodie Drive. Six pm start, over in an hour and a half.
