Stopping sling stud from spinning

Anybody know a trick to keep a front sling stud from spinning in a wooden stuck?

I like using my sling while shooting but it keeps spinning the stud out every single times.

I thought about glueing the swivel stud, too, and decided that being able to remove it (for whatever reason down the road) was more important than it not moving.

I also think that having a non permanent solution is the way to go.

Depends on the application I suppose.
Any room on the inside to countersink a hole and use a machine screw with a
small washer and locking nut on the inside?

If Kamlooky's idea is too normal for you, you could try using something like an eyebolt with washers on the inside and tighten it down.

Blue Loctite if it is a machine screw in a nut... If it is a wood screw in wood it needs to be properly plugged and re drilled and fitted.

The stud is too big for the hole. Take it out, fill the hole with epoxy/woodfiller and redrill.

Nothing is wrong with the hole. If I was a lefty using the same rifle and sling the stud wouldn't unscrew if you see what I mean. I think I am just going to put some wood glue in it and see what happen.

If there was nothing wrong with the hole the stud would be tighter and not work loose with such little pressure. Wood glue is for wood. Is the stud made of wood?

At the very least ( and it may be a temporary fix) stuff a couple of tooth picks (as mentioned already) but with wood glue in the hole and force the stud to where you want it and let it sit for a few hours. The try that and see it it holds.

My choice would be to drill the hole out and properly plug it, and then install a machine thread stud and nut as the forend should have. A drop of blue Loctite on that thread and it will stay in place as long as you want it to.

Ha Ha....light a candle and let a few drops of the hot wax fall on the threaded portion of the stud ( will turn in easier ) had the same problem on the rear stud of my browning bar...been good since .
