I am looking at acquiring an additional CANAM 1911 deal currently available at $300.00. I want to keep it bagged without trigger lock as it would break the original plastic seal and render it used technically. I have a couple already and I quite like them so far and wanted a couple more for storage. Can the community give me options for Canadian legal storage in a standard gun cabinet?

Best regards

If you can't find your RPAL course material it is online ...

This question brings up the gun case/safe question every month!

Last thread tilted to the only legal case of record where an Ontario judge considered a cabinet to be a safe as far as the wording was considered as long as the cabinet was locked.

So check the wording of the RPAL course material and you will see that a restricted does not need a trigger lock as long as it is locked in a safe.

This is a great link! Sometimes even my head gets clouded as to what's legal and what's not... so it's good to keep on top of things like this... This is very ELI5 material :)

As for options - I'm looking at getting one of these... they got great reviews:

If you got to canadian tire, they have a safe sale on right now too...

For half the price you can hold 4 or 5 guns in there...

I have to wonder why you would worry to keep them "unopened" as it were. It's a Norinco. It'll never be worth what you paid for it once you have it even, seal broken or not. People can't even get what they paid out of limited edition kimbers or whatever else.

Not trying to be a jack off, but it's a serious question. That 300 bucks (or multiple of) would better be spend on red as an investment.
