Since I'm almost positive this is a frequently asked question and probably has been covered thousands of times.. I ask here.

I need to buy a safe to store my firearms. However I can't find any information online about good brands to buy. I am moving my 308 winchester and 30-06remington to my place from my dads soon and need to purchase something to store them in. Also looking to buy my first brand new rifle soon that wasn't handed down to me from my grampa.

Welcome to CGN. Try googling Browning gun safes.... and check Wholesale Sports, they usually have several in stock. Nearest WSS to you is in Kamloops. I'm hoping to bring home a Centurion in the fall. Google them, too... also Liberty.
And talk to the guys at the 2 gun shops in Langley, they'll be able to point you in the right direction if they don't have something themselves.

The gun safes sold in Crappy Tire are fine. No fire rating, but they'll do. The one I have fits nicely into a closet too.

i headed down south to bellis fair and got a great safe for 299. got it at Joe's sporting goods. no state or federal tax down there on gun safes. lotsa selection too.

They both carry Sentry safes, about the equivalent of Stack-On from CDN Tire.

The guy I talked to at Langley Gun and tackle recommended a lockable cabinet. about 200$ he said. Not sure it'll be good enough for my needs. Planning on buying a couple restricted rifles in the next few months.

I would suggest going down to the US to pick up a safe, you will save a lot of money and you can get a much bigger safe down there for cheap then you will up here. I bought both of my safes in the US and probably saved two or three hundred dollars by doing so.

I'd get a safe if you plan to get restricted rifles. Otherwise they will need trigger locks in a cabinet. They will be better secured in a safe too.
