Storeing sks's for long periods of time

Hello guys, I remember hearing somewhere that is is a good idea to keep sks's stored not cocked, so that it does not weakin the spring, is this true?.
Thanks. Also dry fireing shouldent damaged the fireing pin should it?, my guess is no, but still wondering.

Dry firing a SKS is fine .
Make sure you washed all the corosive salts out of it if you have used eastern surplus ammo and keep it well oiled/greased and it will be fine .
303 , it amazes me to see how far you'll go to flame the SKS .
If you don't have something constructive to add then don't comment .
Or would you prefer I flame every 303 posting ???
