I just started shooting corrosive 7.62x39 in my XCR. I always store my magazines loaded. But would corrosive ammo harm your magazines at all? Or does the "problem" not start until after its fired?

Cheers

Uh, no.

Ammunition is not "corrosive" per se and neither is the primer by the correct definition of the word. It is simply a convenient term that doesn't accurately describe what the true issue is, which is a primer composition that contains potassium chlorate. The combustion byproducts lead to the formation of metal salts such as potassium chloride (table salt is sodium chloride, essentially the same). Now consider what happens when you introduce salt to steel, and then a humid climate. Look under your car/truck if you're drawing a blank. Without moisture those salts would have little effect on the steel, as evidenced by shooters in dry climates that do not clean after shooting corrosive ammunition.

Corrosive primers were typically favored by militaries because they have a much longer shelf life than non-corrosive primers. I suspect that they are also less sensitive to environmental variances such as temperature.

didn't think it was such a good idea to store mags loaded for long periods of time?
Springs don't typically wear from being compressed, they wear from being cycled. Loading a spring beyond its tolerable limits will also cause accelerated wear, and it's difficult to say if the magazine manufacturer factors this scientifically or just wraps piano wire around a mandrel and throws it in. Another reason not to buy cheap mags.
