Storm delays shipments

Winter storm.

Just a heads up that shipments have been delayed.

We are busy digging out from the results of a big storm that has travelled across Manitoba. Yesterday was a lot of “fun” had to pull one delivery van out of the ditch four times in two miles with the tractor. My day started at 6.30 am blowing snow so my staff could come in to work. We have managed to get our mail out every day but I expect the postal service is well backed up due to No 1 highway conditions. Trucks for ammo shipments are several days behind with pick ups. Just a regular Manitoba winter “normal service will be resumed as soon as possible”.

I have a super restored Snow-Trac in the shed and not even the time to play with her!

That thing is awesome... I want one!

Thanks for the compliments, I have searched high and low for some recent photos but I can,t find any. She is a mid sixties machine powered by a 1600 cc VW Beetle engine, carries 6 adults and one huge dog or lots of grand kids. Top speed about 18 mph but can go anywhere, soft deep snow will not stop her. She is not amphibious, dropped her into the Assiniboine River one winter, lots of fun, the only long term casualty was my old digital camera so no photos of that escapade. Took almost two years of all my spare time but I stripped her down to the chassis and sandblasted her, resprayed her and rebuilt her. All I need is the time to play in the snow, took her out over Christmas with the family and she ran really well. All new instruments including aircraft cylinder temp gauges etc so really very proud of her, no gun racks yet, she would be great for hunting when we have deep snow.

If you fly me out, I'll pay the extra baggage fees to bring my 1919 with me...

;-)

Sweet Ride John. You have some NICE toys in your locker....

Nice, still lots of snow there.

9°c in Vancouver, 2°c up in the local ski hills so have to ski early while still below zero. Tough West Coast life.

Seems this is the first year in a few years you could actually make full use of one of those things. its been kinda light on the snow the last few years at least in eastern and central Manitoba. I wonder if it is the same type of snow car that was in the shining.
