I was out shooting my 597 TVP for the second time and I could not get through a 10 rd. clip without a jam. The gun would fail to eject the spent round and the bolt would jam on the empty shell.
This is really discouraging! The first time I shot, I had no issues at all.
Tomorrow I am going to break er down and use some "dry lube" on the bolt rods and loosen them. If that doesnt fixz it, I will upgrade to a VQ extractor and hammer. But I dont want to upgrade if the problem wont be fixed.
I love my remington, but its sad that they havent fixed it after many years of the same old. I thought with this new model I might be ok... but nope.
I am just using federal value pack cheapies (36 gr. hp). I will try and change ammos before doing the upgrades. I just think it will be a pain to send it back to remington for something that can be upgraded for less than $50.
I know there is alot of advice on this already. But anything is helpful (I dont mind repeats)!
Thanks very much!
