They weren't Lee Enfields. James Paris Lee designed a straight pull clip loading rifle, I believe, around the turn of the last century. The U.S. Navy bought a bunch of them, but they proved to be too awkward, and were later supplanted by better designs. As far as I know, they are highly collectable, and thus very scarce. If you look at some of the american gun auction sites and/or do a web search, you'll see what the values and availiblity are. Lots of luck!
