Straight Stock vs Pistol Grip Lever Guns?

Depends on the person.

Best to try them out yourself.

I really prefer the Pistol Grip stock and my Uncle really prefers the Straight Stock.

I find it ackward to get my hand in a comfortable position on the straight stock and I have to hold my head up off the stock to look through the scope.

The straight stock has a slimmer forearm but has the barrel band.

I find there is a lot more muzzle jump with the straight stock.

Don't have a pistol grip in my gathering of 20 some levers.. Even my Marlins are straight grip. Much better feel than the pistol. Really comes down to personal choice. Also like the straight lever look and the way it feels when it recocks the guns.

I find tht the pistol gives less recoil than the streight grip style and I shoot both. As for pointing it comes to which one you like.

Personally I find that I can control the recoil better with the pistol grip. I like both grips for different purposes and reasons though.

Watch for your thumb knocking you in the nose with a straight grip stock. may have to adjust your grip with heavy recoiling calibers.

I usually leave my thumb on the same side as my fingers....no nose knockin' for me.:)
I also find that the way my hand relaxes on a straight stock with my thumb to the right side, (right handed) is more in line with a pistol grip position.....I like both.

I prefer the pistol grip. I have Marlins with both in heavy calibres and seem to feel the recoil less with the pistol grip. A real monster is my 50-70 BPCR with straight stock and curved steel buttplate. A day at the range = very sore shoulder. I really should buy a PAST.

I like straight stocks on everything...they just seem to point and feel better....some kinda feel like a canoe paddle....good if you are into that ...but I always try to get a straight stock if I can.....
