I need a spotting scope for the range to read targets at 100m. I don't want to spend major coin. My question is of all the scopes below $200 new which ones are capable of seeing a .22cal hole in paper clearly at 100m. This optic won't be carried around the bushso it does not need rubber coating and so on.

12x should do ya, if you have good eyes. I can make out holes through my 4-12x Banner on my .22. 18x is better. 100 yards ain't all that far.

I have a Bushnell Spacemaster 15-45x50 or something. It's garbage. I can't see anything anywhere unless it's like 30 feet infront of me and I have perfect eyes. I would spend atleast $300

 I have this scope and it works perfectly for me, please explain.

Celestron make a great little scope called the 50mini zoom, with a 12-36 eye piece and they retail around $149.00, Most sport shops in alberta carry them, where are you? FS
