Strange day hunting

I went pheasant hunting yesterday and got 3 birds but one was not recovered as it ended up dead 20 feet up a tree and I couldn't shake it down, my young dog Bug tried to climb the tree, big fail!!!!. Later in the day Bug got touched by a prickly squirrel ( porcupine) on his nose and upper lip.

If you look carefully you can see Bug pointing, Chip's in the picture somewhere but I can't see him. Kind of like where's Waldo.

Here they are at lunch time where I thought I'd grab a pic, they were acting antsy and right after pointed another bird about 30 feet away which I missed.

On the way to another spot we ran across these guys. (Cheap camera at full magnification)

Always nice to see animals out there even if they are not your quarry for the day.

Lots of fun, the boys and I were gassed by the end of the day. The frost on everything seemed to make the area unreal in a way.

Maybe because they aren't deer, those are pronghorns.

I've seen lots of speedgoats this year both in the east and west sides o the province, there 30 about a mile from my brothers farm.
