strange marks on my .223 snap cap

i have a savage f-tr in .223, i was using a snap cap in it when i was adjusting the trigger and when showing the rifle to friends so they could dry fire it,

i noticed there are scratch marks right on the edge of the shoulder of the snap cap,

my first thought was #### i must have damaged the chamber somehow while cleaning

so i took a piece of fired brass and fed it in there and there was no marks on it,

anyone see this before?

The snap cap is probably softer than the steel. The snap cap is sliding against the steel and was scratched. Since the brass case is fine I wouldn't worry.

Scratching as its feeding into the chamber or being stripped off the mag. No big deal

an f-tr has no mag, but i guess it is possible its getting scratched while feeding

Most end up that way. Feeding and extraction. Nothing to worry about.
