Strange Thought of the day about M&P's

It makes me laugh how people still bash the m&p. Yes it had it's flaws when it came out a few years ago, but when glock came out in the 80's it was no better.

M&p's are just as reliable and easy to take care ove as the glock. The ergos are 10 times better for me on the m&p.

My thumbs up went to Smith & Wesson because when they found the problem, they admited the fault and corrected it acordingly. One thing I liked was that they called it an official "recall" and there customer service was quite helpfull with people who had issues.

Glock with there theory of perfection, when they had issues they called it "upgrades". To me, that's wrong and shamefull. They had to much pride to admit that they are not perfect like us normal people.

But to each is own.

And for the quality control thing, u know what, as sead before no one or no machine is always perfect... Don't matter if it's glock,

Yeah but a simple test fire session before leaving the factory, or even extensive testing with a few random pieces off the assembly line cold have saved alot of people some headache. You talk about Glock assuming they are perfect, but I think not testing products enough is assuming they work. Like I said the 2 examples of this problem i witnessed were within the first 10 rounds, not hundreds of rounds later. As the OP stated what if this did occur with a new gun for a police officer on duty? What if it ended in tragedy, and the officer was killed because his gun malfunctioned? What would you have to say then?

Why the hell would I buy a gun that doesn't work. And the 2 that I saw at my club were both brand new outta the box. This tells me quality control is no good. I was not gonna take the chance. And I'm not the one that started that last thread. I love the G17 though. Lol. Enjoy your MP. I still think they feel great and the ones I have shot were very accurate. A couple guys at my club swear by them but I wasn't gonna risk such B.s. especially if I'm buying a new gun.

To each his own I guess. If you lived around these parts you could flog mine for a bit, see if we couldn't change your mind.

I would say the same thing. My buddys glock 17 had a failure the 2nd round it shot and he is a pro shooter fyi (it was nib). Another one the slide lock broke and the slide flew off after firing and it had 255 rounds shot out ove.

I'm not here to start a war lol. I'm stating the fact that nothing is perfect don't mater what kind of qc is in place. And just for an added bonus for the stew, I use a m&p40 as my duty firearm and I would trust it with my life.

Operator error???

They are mechanical devices, made by man (and machine, admittedly) - they are going to break and have problems.

I have 2 M&P's, both M&P40's, and a barrel and mags in 9x19 that occasionally go in one or the other of them, it doesn't seem to matter which one - they have worked flawlessly since day one with both factory FMJ and JHP as well as several thousand reloads with 180gr LSWC and 6 gr Universal Clays - total round count for both guns combined (and 9/.40 combined) is over 20K.

In the interest of full disclosure I have KaBoomed 3 Glocks (1 x G21 with reoads, 2 x G22 both with factory ammo) - does that mean I'm an "anything but Glock" guy?? Not at all - still own a G23 and a G17 (the best Glock ever IMNSHO)...
