"Strap-On" cheek piece

Hey ev'rybody.
I have a .450 Marlin MXLR. The stock comb is too low for me. I need to get my cheek up to get a comfy look through the scope and still retain a good cheek weld. Does anyone know of a 'strap-on' cheek piece? Can't seem to find one thru Google or snooping around. With or without built in cartridge loops...

My experience with saddle type cheek pieces is minimal, but I found them to be universally lacking. The worst thing about them is that they tend to move your face away from the center-line of the rifle, which is not a helpful thing, and they can move, which is even less helpful. I think your problem should be approached in on of two ways. The cheaper of the two would be to have a monte-carlo hump made out of wood or plastic that was permanently fastened to the existing comb. The more expensive way would be to purchase the hardware that would allow you to have an adjustable cheek piece that was moved by a thumb wheel and a threaded rod.

Mind you, a leather cheek piece looks good on a lever gun, and they are made by many of the same folks who make quality slings and holsters, particularly the western rigs.
 
I've found aftermarket strap on cheekpeices to be useful for rifles that have a really bad check weld, like a sporterized Lee Enfield with a scope, or a straight grip lever that is scoped. You usually get what you pay for in terms of quality. Make sure any one you are looking at can be held in place firmly.
 
You can try using a good closed cell foam (like a sleeping pad) piece - in an oval shape, in the thickness that you find by trial and error, and place it under a Beartooth cartridge holder.

It usually fits snugly, but you can use a double sided tape if you want a more secure hold. I have used this method off and on for hunting with rifles that may not fit me perfectly and I find that they are very servicable.
 
I have a Beartooth comb-raising kit working well on one of my Lee Enfields, and there were enough pieces of foam left over to make another out of one of their stock sleeves.

ATI has a plastic cheek piece rather like the Lee Enfield No.4 sniper's. I haven't tried it.
 
Steve, I already have the lowest rings on there. Yes I love my rifles, but not in that way.... sickos! ;)
Thanks for the response guys. Ordered a Beartooth, and an ITC. Will see which one I like the best.
 
"...go to eBay..." Don't. They give money to the people who want your fireams confiscated.
"...monte-carlo hump made out of wood..." You can buy that too. There are cheek rests from ATI, et al. Some are better than others. Some require drilling holes in the stock. Using lower rings will be better.

My experience as well. I find they are ok at the bench where the shooter can take the time to ensure that they have proper alignment, but not for hunting.
