Strap wrench to remove barrel?

I've never seen one.... are these home made, or are they available somewhere?

CTC has a strap wrench for plumbing purposes. No way is it strong enough to remove a barrel. Barrels can be extremely tight to start moving.

Usually, the wrench is applied to the action, with the barrel clamped in a vise. Marring is prevented by using a brass insert with a channel machined to the diameter of the barrel.

Of course, every gunsmith has seen rifles that have been clamped in pipe vises and twisted with 16" pipe wrenches......
