I have a Taurus 24/7 Pro DA/SA in 9mm. It was having an issue where at first, it would not fire when in DA mode, ten eventually it just didn't fire 75% of the time, even on second strike. After two years at a gunsmith/warranty center, I finally tracked down the parts they recommended. The striker assembly was replaced. I was hoping that would be the fix, and it was! 100 rounds, no FTF.
But now, a scary gremlin has arose. I pull the trigger normally to the rear. Holding it rear, when i slowly allow it to reset, before it actually gets to the reset point, the striker releases again, firing another round, It does this both at the range and dry-firing. This occurs 75% of the time. The other 25% of the time, it will slasp the trigger forward, not setting the striker off but a definite trigger slap.
I know the smith originally didn't diagnose it as a striker assembly problem, Taurus did, and the smith ended up trying some different springs out first.
Any advice? Its not the most common pistol but I'm hoping someone with some striker gun experience can help out!
Thank you so much!
