I just got home with my new Puma 92 .38SPL/.357MAG and I'm trying to figure out how to strip and clean it. Is there a "how-to" somewhere that is a bit better than the little pamphlet that comes with it? The trouble I'm having is that the written instructions don't use the same terms to describe the parts that are listed on the exploded view.

Hello Evan:

I have done some research on these guns and have found the cowboy sites are the best for information, updates and tuneups.

Try:
ht tp://marauder.homestead.com/files/rossitune.htm , I have a copy of an excellent how to from CAS City Chronicles but I could not find the link tonight.
Hope you have fun with the gun.

Kim.

found the other link thru the first site.

Has pictures and trouble shooting guide as well as tuneup tricks

The Puma Model 92 lever action correct? That 2 page manual certainly is an epic. Mind you, owner's manuals rarely tell you how to disassemble any rifle.
Lever actions, generally, don't get field stripped for cleaning. You just clean 'em with the action open. Winchesters and Marlins are cleaned the same way. Their manuals don't give disassemly instructions either.

The Marlin 1895 instruction book actually recommends that you clean from the breech, and gives instructions on how to disassemble the rifle to do so.

You could always try "You Tube" or something like that, they have plenty of videos of people disassembling their rifles, their might be one on your rifle.
