Stripped factory 26 SKS receiver

While doing some spring cleaning I pulled out something I picked up on here years ago. It's a stripped SKS barrelled receiver from factory 26. It's been "worked" on and isn't in good shape. Steel is fine, no rust, bore looks sharp, but it has some ugly gold paint on parts of it and the front sight has been ground off. The finish leaves much to be desired.

I was planning to build a rifle out of it but honestly, everyone here knows that getting the parts will be far more expensive and difficult than buying a full rifle new in the box. I just want this gone now.

Would anyone actually want this thing or should I just take it down to the local cop shop to put it out of its misery? Yes, it is registered.
 
The front sight assembly comes off by removing a pin and hammering it forward. Marstar sells replacements.

Best bet, if the rifle is otherwise nice, is to find the cheapest beater you can get your hands on and swap all the parts over :)
