Stripped Lower Availability - Everyone is Sold Out?

Hi All,

One of my friends just got their RPAL.

He is limited on funds but would like to buy an AR to raise numbers.

Does anyone know if anyone has stock available??

It is not so much a genuine shortage of AR15 Lower Receivers as it is a "manufactured shortage" caused by Canadian dealers not restocking a risky commodity. Nobody wants to be left holding the bag with inventory that must be destroyed for no monetary renumeration. The writing is on the wall when even the dealers are hedging their bets...

RDSC.ca looks like they have some Aero Precision lowers and sets in stock. Not sure what quality they are.

Aero Precision is excellent quality. A lower is just a low-stress holder of parts, so unless you are looking for a specific manufacturer match or some such, an Aero Lower Receiver is all you need for a quality AR build. The standard Aero Lower even offers features that most name-brand Lower Receivers do not (eg. an inner tensioning system to eliminate Upper/Lower Receiver slop). A matched Aero Upper and Lower Receiver set is an excellent basis for a quality AR build!

Aero has a deal for upper and lower set for $220. That's a pretty good deal I'd say. It says gen 2, would that be a good set to go with?

I dislike these gimmicky things that make takedown a pita with a 0 gain in practical performance.

Yes, it is simply a spring-loaded screw with a rubberized tip that can be backed off to relieve the tensioning effect.

E.T.A. - The BCG has a super slick Nickel-Boron coating. I cannot recall the brand, but it wasn't particularly costly given the incredible reduction in required cleaning time!

No need. Just don't tighten down the screw if you don't want to.
