Stripped screw head in scope mount - what now?

Well, they were Craftsman brand screw removers (I thought easy-outs was a generic term). What happened was as we were turning the bit it shaved metal off the head of the screw.

you can tap an easy-out into the socket and turn the screw out while applying heat. I/ve done it many times. The ones I used have a square drive end.
