Stripper clips for 7.62 Mauser

Hi all,
Just tried feeding some dummy 7.62 NATO rounds into my BRNO Israeli Mauser, and I found that the stripper clip is too wide for it to fit into the guide. Were there special clips manufactured for the Israeli Mauser? (I believe mine is from a M14...)

I suspect that the original 8mm stripper clips would work. The 7.92x57 and 7.62x51 both have the same case head diameter. I'm sure someone will be able to confirm this.

yes, use the normal german, yugo, stripper clips. I use my 8mm stripper clips with my isreali k98k, I think the ones you have are built for M14'S

Don't have a rifle to test this, so it looks like I can't help.

Besides, most of my original German chargers disappeared in the company of a friend with a rifle identical to yours. He is very happy now, but the coyotes aren't.

Lots of Yugo and Czech 8mm chargers running about. They work.

I have Israeli made ones, they are 8mm clips like all the others. German, Yugo, any 8mm Mauser clip will work.

M14 clips will not fit, tried that before haha.

Trade-Ex seems to have lots of them. I bought 10 last week for $8, but I combined them with a larger order so that I saved on the shipping.

My Israeli Brno has (most likely)altered stripper clip guides and none of those I tried fits.

German,Turkish,Czech,Yugo, Ecuadorian-not a single one

Would this be done by some armorer to prevent anyone from feeding 8x57(in clips) into 308 chambered rifle?

I doubt it. There isn't much risk in mistaking 8x57 for .308. If you can close the action on it, I'd be very very very impressed.

Regular 8mm chargers work fine on my 1905 Turk Mauser and my 41 chiang kai-shek Mauser

Yeah, I had e few of those clips, I'll be damned if I know what happened to them .....

I use standard clips for k98 in 30-06
They work but they don't hold them in quite as tight as they should...they are real easy to load into the rifle though. I imagine they would hold .308 in a similar fashion.

Just got some 8mm strippers and they work great loading .308 in my Israeli Mauser!
