Thanks for your help, gentlemen.

.318" bore?

Hi!
Is your Mauser Commission still in .318" bore or has it been converted to shoot the current .323" 8mm. ammo?
If you reload, keep in mind that the action of the Mauser Commission rifle is nowhere near the strength factor of the M-98 action.
Stick to mild charges.
Good luck! :)

Since you're asking, I'm assuming its one of the ones still using the Mannlicher style stripper clip and hasn't been converted to Mauser charger loading? Congrats, those are quite rare.

How can you tell???

without slugging the barrel that is...is there a marking on the barrel that informs one of the bore diameter?

Many were converted to use the standard 98-type clip..... these will usually have a set of clip guides welded/riveted to the top of the action. Inside the magazine well, on the left-hand side, there will be a little sort of shelf that sticks into the feedway. It is spring-loaded and you force the rounds past it and it lets them come up one at a time. If your rifle has the clip guides, it takes the 98-type clip, which is worth about 15 cents.
