Hi all,

So I finally got to take my Black Badge course the other week ( Thanks Jerry, it was awesome !) and the subject of stripper mags came up.
Currently I have 4 DAA racer pouches setup on my belt with the last one pretty far behind me so its a bit awkward to put yet another pouch on me and have it so far in back.
So I was wondering if any of you veteran shooters use a magnet to hold a stripper mag and where do you place it?

Thanks!

My front mag pouch has a magnet on it.

I approach the line with 2 mags attached to the magnet and one in the mag pouch. On LAMR - one of the magnet "mags" is used as the stripper, the second one goes in the gun for the start.
(I start with nothing on the magnet)
The stripper mag goes in my back pocket. I never will knowingly put a mag with anything less than full capacity in a mag pouch on my belt.

Those magnets in the center back of people's rigs that are often used for stripper mags are useless as far as I'm concerned but for some reason, many wear them.

I have seen magnetics on the front, side and just the other day underneath the number one mag pouch.
Walter, A few years back, I saw an Open Shooter in Ontario with 3 magnets across the front of his belt - side by side.
All I could picture was the devastation to a paint job if he got close to a car. :)

I'm right handed and stuff my stripper mag in my back right pocket so I never try to grab it. Once it goes in the pocket, I'd have to reholster in order to get it out. If that ever happened, something really went wrong with the stage.

You are so right Sean! first scratch i put on a new truck was pulling my rig out of the back seat and it catching on the door post.
