Strongest-Action .22?

Something in my mind tells me that the .22 semi's won't take too easily to the .17's. Please correct me if I am wrong on this score.

Not wrong, but not right either. With the correct springs and a new bolt of the correct mass, a semi can be converted from .22Mag to .17 HRM. So it would be theoretically possible to convert any .22 Mag rifle, all things being equal*.

Such conversions exist for the Ruger 10/22 Mag. With some clever machineing, a Cooey 64B should be doable.

* I'm not a gunsmith, nor do I play one on the internet.

Cat,

If you ever decide to sell the 3rd bolt from the left of your pic (and the rifle that goes with it :)) please let me know. These 37 are not easy to find...

FOGETABOUTIT!!
That bolt belongs to a rifle that was once owned by one of the greatest shooters Canada
( and the World) has ever known.
Jim Boa originally owned it, and my father aquired it from his son, Gil.
The initials "JB" are inlaid in caligraphy on the grip.

Dad figured it was one of the finest prone rifles he ever shot, it would stand right next to the Anschutz Super match free rifles , and the Winchester 52's, and it still will.

it has the factory upgraded Sweeney trigger in it also.
