Some mild weather has hit southern Ontario and i’ve seen more birds then ever before. Whats awesome is seeing the Toms in full strut. A little early, but exciting nonetheless. Cant wait until April!
 
I just read that there is a Turkey problem in Edgewater in southern BC.
So many of them in town that they are driving the residents crazy.
Crapping all over everything, and breaking tree branches when they roost.
Maybe hunters can help out when the season opens, lol.
Apparently some residents have been feeding them. The town says they
must stop. :) EE.

I always think about it..... It is hands down my favourite hunt......

did some yote hunting today and struck out (although i did get some rabbit snares out to check tomorrow, so not a total loss)....

those bog ugly bird tracks were everywhere...... surprised i didnt jump the flock.......

I'm bumming because I lost my best turkey spot last year... the owners brother-in-law started turkey hunting... I took a big gobbler there opening morning seven years in a row.

Turkey is my favourite hunt as well. Got out for my first coyote hunt of the year this past Sunday and got lucky :)

there were three in my backyard the other day. About a month before open season, I will be setting up my blind so they get used to seeing it. cant wait!!

wish i could snare, trixy little bunnies school me day in and day out. i think someone walks around with fake bunny tracks on their soles cause i sure find em.

i find turkey tracks especially weird because i know they're a daytime animal so you feel like you'll run into them at any second, where as deer i feel like i tell myself they were made at night.

sounds like my first bunny hunt. went out alone on snow shoes for about 4 hrs. pretty sure I walked most of the 60 acres I had access to, following tracks non stop. didn't see a single one.

But it keeps you fit so that is a bonus folks in the city pay gym memberships for that..
 
Ive had a pair of snowshoes for years and have yet to use them. I keep them in the Argo while hunting in case I ever get stuck in a swamp bog and have to walk out.

I am south of the french river as well...... just happen to have my trappers license.....

I have learned over the years that one rabbit can make an awful lot of tracks.....
