I have a .308 casing stuck in a sizing die. Any suggestions ?

I know I know, I didn't have the case properly lubed.

Thanks

get a stuck case remover , spray some Kroil in it and go to town. If you can't remove it that way send it to the manufacturer and they can remove it or just buy a new set:D

You can easily build a stuck case remover by going to www.surplusrifle.com/shooting/shellextractor/index.asp or you may be able to put the whole mess in the freezer , then when it is cool try to extract it like normal , the two different metals expand and contract differently so may be able to be separated. Also what brand of die is it , as some are easier to work on than others. GOOD LUCK

Before drilling and tapping the casehead, loosen off the decapping stem, and get it as far from the head as possible.
Drill and tap the casehead to 1/4x20.
Find a socket that is larger than the casehead, smaller than the die. Run a 1/4" bolt with washer through the die and screw it into the case. Pull the case loose by tightening the bolt. You may have to adjust the length of the bolt.
Disassemble.
Saw off the case head.
Remove the decapping stem, and the front portion of the case.
Clean, reassemble, and use more lube - not too much, though, or you will dimple your brass.

You can drill it 5/16 and the decapping ass'y should come out the bottom. Then tap it 3/8 and screw a bolt in. Take a long 5/16 punch and drive it out from the top. This has worked for me anyway. Get some imperial sizing wax. Mark
