I picked up an Anschutz 64 and I figure I get a proper bore guide. So I got one of those Possum #28 ones from NM.

There Is no instructions or clear videos how to use it. I know remove bolt and stick it in. But only way it will go in if the tray is up above, as it wont clear the ejector or single shot tray, so a the solvents will dump the action.

Is this the only way of using this model?

Use only enough solvent to get your patch started.
If you thing you need more . . . dripping a few drop down the muzzle.
A patch does not need to be soaked edge to edge . . . two drops will do.
Should there be excess on the patch, your concern will be resolved by taking the barreled action from the stock.
At that time your could also saturate the trigger with lighter fluid, blow it our with air and repeat once more.
With my Remington, Coopers and Anschutz one dry Tipton Felt is pushed through immediately after shooting and watch the smoke exit the muzzle.
With the 10/22's, a 17 or 20 pull-through accomplishes the same thing.

^agreed. I have a 64 and the same bore guide from NM, I also have ProShot cleaning rods from NM as well.

I use my pull through cleaning kit from 20/20 concepts far more, and I use them for everything .22 and under...including on my 64. I use the "super intensive" felts with solvent, then patches. May not be everyone's first choice, but it works amazingly well.

Thanks for the tip. The trigger mech has 30 year old grease in it, would naphtha work?

So the only way to insert it is the flat side down, so the guide slot clears the extractor?

My son said Varsol . . . Lighter fluid has the right amount of lubricant . . . almost none.
