I have been out of the AR build game for awhile. ....pre May 2020 ban.

My stupid question.......Why is it so difficult to find dealers in Canada with AR "type" parts to complete Crypto Type Rifles. Mainly BCG's I would think lots of money to be made bringing in just BCG's, LPK's +++ I am having a difficult time just getting buffer assemblies. Demand is down, but still I would think enough demand to make it profitable? In the "old days" pre ban May 2020 Canadian dealers always had parts to build AR's.

I have looked at the posted dealers and RDSC + with very little luck....? Thanks.

I believe most retailers stopped importing AR parts when the ban hammer was banging due to expected lack of interest. I've also heard that the CBSA is being argumentative about such parts currently, arguing they don't fit anything that can be legally sold.

"Whatever the latest flavour of NR yet to be smashed" is a tough market to invest a lot of low margin resulting effort into. And that market pales in comparison with the previous "AR15 type" market that was respectable. Why carry that stock and risk it being worthless when your gun business is teetering on the brink of insolvency anyway?

Go through RDSC and know that you're at least supporting guys who've stuck with making the effort to keep things available. JM2c.

Supply and demand. Demand is high right now due to Crypto avoiding OIC (so far).

And there is overall less supply of AR parts currently due to the relentless bans, companies are less willing to bring in as many of those "risky" parts, that they may get stuck with in the long run.
Also, plenty of guys are stockpiling BCG's, gas blocks/tubes, etc. for a rainy day.
