Can you soot 32acp out of a tt-33, I can't really seem to find an answer...

What prompted this question in the first place?

BTB - There is no such thing as a stupid question, however individuals that repeatedly ask the same question are annoying.

^ Yeah, in all seriousness what they said....no such thing as a stupid question. Stupid is not knowing and not asking.

I'm relatively new to handguns but I've learned two things. 1. There is a lot I don't know,,,,and 2. What you don't know can hurt you.

Be safe and ask away.

all started with i picked up a tt-33 and a customer of mine had told me he thinks i can soot 32acp out of it. i googled the topic and couldnt find an answer.

Where this comes from, is that many TT33s (and most other soviet 30 cals, for that matter) tend to have rather generous bores. Mine slugs out to .313. The 32ACP PROJECTILE is .312, so I load my 7.62x25 cases with 32ACP PROJECTILES. Berry's makes bulk .32 ACP projectiles in the 71 grain, which is light for the 7.62x25, but I haven't had issues when punching paper.

That's what I was thinking too. Been having troubles though loading the cartridge with plenty of chambering issues especially with the larger bullets(.311 cast). Even sized some down and still having troubles. Trimming everything to a uniform 24.5mm and gonna go from there. I'd say to load for the Tok is not for the faint of heart.

OP certainly not a stupid question just a newbie question. We all gotta start somewhere and these forums are an absolute wealth of knowledge.

Hey I learned some new here too.

OP: Thanks for posing the question!

Sorry to derail but chambering issue is finally solved thanks to uniforming the lengths of the brass on my Lyman universal trimmer. Now to blast away with out the headache of chambering issues :dancingbanana:

There are no stupid questions only stupid actions. Asking the question may well have saved the stupid action. This to me is pretty smart. Never ever ever use a cartridge that the gun is not specifically designed for. If it isn't stamped on the gun don't use it. There are no such things as substitutes that it will be OK. Occasionally guns are designed to be OK with two cartridges but it is very unusual.
