stupid slug reloading question

I recently picked up a lee 7/8oz slug mould to play with. It came with loading instructions for very specific loads. I am happy with about 1250-1300fps as I won't use these for anything but making a bang. My question is can I just drop in one of these lee drive key slugs on top of my standard trap and skeet loads? 7/8 oz of shot is the same weight as 7/8oz of slug right? Would the pressures spike or would it come out just like a load of #8s?

changing reloading data for shotgun/slug loads can cause problems
there is a lot of info online if you look for it
or if one of your friends/ guys at the club have a Lyman shot gun reloading book take a look at it

i would strongly recommend more research in to changing components (caution)

What hulls are you using and wads.I have a Lyman book with data?

I think your best to start from scratch..with the proper wads and hulls..I have worked some good loads for the lee slugs..

I'm using remington sts hulls 2 3/4". Claybuster wads grey 7/8oz. Cheddite primers and promo powder 17.5grains
