I have always wanted a scout, but already have a number of rifles in .308. Was wondering if anyone has one in .376 styer and what their thoughts are? I like the idea of light rifle like this that hits hard (thinking 220's for deer and 300's for moose). I reload so ammo won't be an issue. Do they make them anymore or do I need to keep a close eye on the EE. I would appreciate any thought on it.
Thanks for the input.

I think Carmel on this site had one. I like Steyr and the Scout is impressive but haven't see a 376 on EE for quite a while ... Other options might be a 350 RM for the game you mention. This was in fact the calibre that was the basis for the 'original' Scout rifle big bore concept fwiw. And a Remington 600 in this calibre or one of the 'Classic' rifles that were made in 350 but cut down to 18 or 20 inches (better) might be a very nice option despite the lack of a removable magazine as used on a Steyr

I haven't seen on in a while in that caliber either, but they do come up. I would be open to alternatives, but do really like the scout as a rifle as well and would be tempted by .308 as well.
if someone trying to get rid of one PM'd me I would be intrested...

I have one deep down in one of my safe, dont remember wich one...
Did not shot it in age, it's a unique light cannon, a keeper definetly..

When i get to my Ontario farm will find it and get some pictures for the boys... JP.

I have and cherish a Steyr Scout .308...one of them in .376 would be a cool toy of the highest order! :)

Caramel, is yours a Scout, or is it one of those short-barreled Pro Hunter guns? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing some pics. I missed a .376 years ago when TradeEx had one on their site, haven't seen another since.

OP, even if you "settle" for a .308 Scout, you'll still love it; so what if there's a bit of cartridge redundancy? Terrific guns.
