Hey guys, just looking for some thoughts on the su-22 compared to the 597 vtr or the sr22?

How reliable is the su for shooting, is it prone to jams, worth the coin, etc etc. I have a 597 now and it's quite reliable except when shooting certain rounds such as cheap win rounds.

I have a spare red dot laying around and figure it's time to pick up a black 22 of some sort.

Anyone with some suggestions or views on this?

I love mine. It's light (4 lbs ) very reliable, and folds up to fit in my backpack. I have not found any ammo it does not like. It has a threaded barrel and cycles on subsonic ammunition. I had to mill off the last 2 notches of the picatinny rail to get the stock to fully fold and latch onto the barrel. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but the palm swell hit the bottom picatinny rail of the foregrip and would not fully latch in the folded position. I do have one compliant. The receiver is mostly hollow with nooks and crannies. I know twice for sure, but maybe three times in many thousands of rounds, a casing has taken a bad bounce during ejection and gotten lodged up in the aforementioned nooks. Or maybe it was the crannies, but either way, they proved difficult to remove.

I had one, it worked well. Mine had a really bad trigger (8 1/2 #) I didn't really like the take down much but that was me. Running large mags was great, and it worked really well with a black dog drum. I would just try to purchase one where you can feel the trigger. I can't think of any ammo it didn't feed well, and I really just plinked with it and not sure what kind of accuracy you can get. But it I never noticed any real in accuracy when shooting apples and such with my son.
