These were all with Berry RN 124gr bullets at an OAL of 1.135
I loaded up a couple of Hornady XTP 124gr with 7.3gr of Blue Dot at an OAL of 1.075 they came out at 1409 and 1415
Next trip out I played with the OAL of these, sticking with the same 7.3gr powder load and started doing 5 rounds of each for more consistency
OAL of 1.085" - 1313, 1281, 1289, 1367, 1363
1.115" - 1346, 1303, 1286, 1233, 1245
1.125" - 1292, 1266, 1268, 1352, 1243
1.135" - 1186, 1245, 1306, 1248, 1252
At this pint I figured that the weight of the bolt is becoming the limiting factor with the 124gr bullets and loading shorter is definately the ticket to get more velocity. Also, as velocity goes up, accuracy was improving.
So I went to some 115gr XTPs and stuck with Blue Dot as the powder of choice.
Stayed with an OAL of 1.075" I'll just put highs and lows as my fongers are getting tired
7.9gr - 1492, 1475
8.1gr - 1507, 1500
8.3gr - 1560, 1583
8.5gr - 1650, 1681
Shortened up OAL to 1.060 after talking to a buddy and was trying to see how much speed I could get and just stuck with the max load of 8.5gr velocity came out at 1785, 1805 but accuracy was not as good
The gun clearly prefers the 115gr bullet and slower buring powders and factory stuff seems to be limited to around 1200 - 1300 fps
Oh and that was with a Sub2000 lol
