Sub Gauge Patterning

Hi,

I was thinking about getting some 28 gauge adapters for my 20 gauge side by side, as opposed to buying a 28. Is this a good option? How much worse would the patterns be than with an actual 28 gauge shotgun?
Also, any good or easily avaiable brand of adapters out there right now?

Patterns will be similar to a 28ga barrel and probably slightly better than a 20ga barrell.
