I want to pick up a sub2000. I had a gen1 glock mag version i sold a few years ago. I want to get another one but am curious how the gen1 stacks up against the gen2. I see some gen1 versions on the EE for a reasonable price. Is it worth going for the gen2? Anyone shot or owned both? Thanks

The Gen 2 has a lot of worthwhile improvements over the Gen1; I daresay the Gen2 has most of the "RedLion-type" add-ons that people were adding to the Gen1, albeit built-into the Gen2 at less cost.

Watch out for the recall on gen 2. improper heat treat in the barrels from what I hear. kel tech has a list of serials on their website

I'm getting the fx9 regardless. I just want to know how the sub2k gens compare and which to get.

Sorry, forgot to mention I used to own a gen 1, decent and reliable little toy, I would think the gen 2 would be every bit as good mechanically but with all the improvements like the sights and rails.
Funny how these are selling on the EE for more than I paid for mine new including taxes. I did sell mine for the same as what I paid but looks like I should of held onto it for a while longer :p

Haven't been following retail prices of these so don't know if this is a good deal or not but

typical Canadian price for the 9mm, but they have the less easy to find 40S&W which comes with an extra mag at the same price
