I was tired of bruising my right shoulder with my guide gun in 444 marlin, so i experimented with reduce loads using 240 grains lead bullets.
Was not to sure about the type of powder to use.Since i am reloading for my .44 mag with titegroup with the same bullet, i tried it with great results.
7 grains of titegroup behind a 240 lead swc bullet in my marlin with 18 1/2 in barrel chronographed at more or less 1000 fps.Accurate load up to 50 yards and a bit louder than a .22 lr fired from a revolver.Great plinking load.
Next time i will use a pinch of dacron to keep the powder low in the case.
Just wanted to share my experience with you...
