Success story - removing small stripped set screw

I was trying to remove the set screw from the hammer spur of a new-to-me Marlin lever action rifle. Marlin supplies a 1/16" allen wrench for this purpose, but the wrench turned freely in the socket. I tried a similarly-sized Torx wrench, but to no avail. Removal of the set screw is further complicated because it is nested deeply within the knurled part of the spur.

Fortunately, I'd recently read Ted's thread about removing stripped scope base screws and remembered that I'd previously purchased some "Micro GrabIt" extractors from CTire ages ago on a whim (they were on for 40% off... I believe I paid about $20).

I wasn't too confident since the set screw was so small and deep in the recess, but less than a minute later, here was the result:

That bit of red is Marlin's factory thread-locker, which I think is equivalent to blue Loctite. The spur was undamaged and all I need is a new set screw. The instructions say that the smallest extractor is suitable for bolts down to 3mm, so it's a great size for many gunsmith applications.
