such thing as a Remington 28+inch rifled barrel?

I just bought the super slugger remington 870 and it is 25 and half inches long, fully rifled, 1 inch diameter heavy barrel and fluted. It is also pinned to the receiver.

Not sure if you can order just the barrel....
 
Asking out of curiosity, what would such barrel length achieve? A 12 or 20ga saboted slug could only be hurled accurately so far as present slug cartridge capability will allow .....

LOL! You do have a point. Couple weeks ago, on a very quiet weekday afternoon, I zeroed a friend's Savage 220 (22in barrel) at the range. A guy was working a roller over the new parking lot outside.....comes in after a while to investigate what we were shooting! Slug gun muzzle blast can be a little rough but those guns do shoot real well.
