- Tools for tweaking, tools to avoid, tools that are nice to have but expensive, tools that are overrated and too expensive
- Gadgets that are nice to have, need to have, and useless to have (but I had to buy it to show you)
- Tools that you can make yourself instead of buying, tools that you can have buddies (owe you favors) make up for you
- Stripping the boomstick (you will be surprised at what I can show you)
- Assembling the boomstick, and what to look for so that worthwhile tweaks can be or should be made
- Tweaks that work, tweaks that don't work, expensive tweaks so yer #### does not fall off
- Useless tweaks unless you have more money than shooting ability (many stories to follow at the clinic)
- Common pitfalls, expensive tweaks that work, more ways to ensure that yer #### don't fall off
- Lunch and then tweaking in the afternoon, shimming, pounding out more shims (all hands on activities)
- Lots of networking and socializing all the time. This is priceless.

Things to bring for SATURDAY or Day 1:

* Your M1 Garand rifle or 2 if you follow my advice....
* Got a rebarreling job ? Let me know!

* Notebook, pens, digital camera, rags,

* Ball peen hammer, Allen keys both metric & SAE

* Fired brass for us to measure

* Big cold chisel (knock of flash suppressors)

* Plastic or rubber mallet, wood block or 2, hardwood is nicer

* Black and Decker Workmate (not mandatory, nice to have)

* Masking tape, duct tape

* I'll bring the Devcon / JB Weld and all glass bedding materials

It's after 2100 hours now and I have unloaded my truck in the driveway. What have you learned about the Garand trigger groups and rear sights?

What did you learn about pulling a Garand barrel off the receiver?

Gotta rest now.

Talk to you later. thanks.

Cheers, Barney

Really easy when you've got the right tools!
Thanks Barney, we had a great time

I just found the instructions on how to make your own SLED (single loading and ejection device) and hopefully you may/will have a few 8 rd clips on hand in case you screw things up. Ask me how I know that it's good to have spares!

Enjoy making a SLED on your very own. YouTube will have SLED related instructions on how to use one during slow fire portions of a competition or when you are loading single rounds for sighting in purposes. :)

Here you go: http://www.foundry.ray-vin.com/m1sled/m1sled.htm

Cheers and keep helping them NOOBS out there!
