Hey guys,

gathering parts for my Remington 700 Tactical build, 20 inch heavy barrel, .308.

need some suggestions on a scope and bases for this,

looking for a scope that will allow shooting out to 600 meters, and i would prefer a mil-dot reticle. somehting decent but affordable would be good lets say under $500?

looking for bases for said scope that will be solid and stay tight and all the other good things bases should do....;)

Thanks guys,

oh and if anyone has any idea's a good Bi-pod let me know!

Having changed scopes quite a bit in the past two years with my F-Class rifle the Bushnell Tactical series might be a place to start. My only gripe with them was the reticle was not as fine as other scopes. Tried the Falcon Menace which had a great reticle but the eye relief at high power was to short for me. Just picked up a Sightron that looks amazing compared to the others but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

I was told that the Bushnell 4200 series are either on sale or are going to be on sale from Cabelas ( the real one U.S) for really good prices. The 4200 series are great scopes for the money and come in a variety of reticle options...might be worth looking into. They currently have some leupold scopes in the bargain cave as well as some nikon prostaffs

I have the same rifle and I have a Bushnell 4200 6-24x40 that I am very happy with.

You will probably want to get bases with built in height for that distance shooting though as the Bushnell has limited adjustments.
