Suggest me open sights for 1895 GG.

Long story short, I don't like hood scoops on my front sight, broke my front sight after a few years of bouncing around in my truck. *karma*. My front sight was bedded in to the barrel so I just knocked it a few times with a hammer to get it out.

My questions are:

1) Could some one measure the height of their front sight so I can narrow down my search to find one.

2) Recommend new open sights from an above dealer, or that they have seen on the ee. (you can pm me if you feel more comfortable doing that one).

I use firesight on the front and Williams peep on the rear, and they are great for target and field, but I don't think they are rugged enough for "bouncing around in a pickup".

I have a firesight up front as well but in case Ben's right and I break it, I'm keeping my Marlin front sight as a backup.

Did you look at the skinner sights? I had them on my old Guide gun. Very well made, affordable, and as close to bomb proof as your gonna get.

I put XS Sights Ghost-Ring Aperture Set with wings on my Guide Gun, I like them a lot.

X2 for the skinner sights. Ive been looking into these myself. Lots of info here on choosing a front sight and height.

I have XS and Skinner on mine. Skinner tactical rear and XS front until Skinner comes out with their new tactical front.

I had an early set of Skinners on my GG, but I replaced them with a Williams FP set, as the Williams are easier to adjust.
