Suggest the best Bullet Length Database on the Internet

Sometimes I just go on the net and type in google the type of bullet, rifle and powder I am using and read things about what people say. I look for the best groups and try that combo in my rifle.

Umm .. mag length, published o.a.l. for a recipie you are working up ...

just two reasons off the top of my head.

i wonder, are there any other reasons to care about bullet length?

EDIT-it just occured to me that sometimes i measure out bullets and get a tolerance, but I have no idea what the bullets 'listed' length is supposed be .. thus you dont know if your working with slightly undersized or oversized bullets? I suppose you could compare them to actual weight but i'm lazy and dont have a digital scale! Coincidentally I didn't find sorting bullets by their OAL to be worth the time invested.

Why are you interested in the length? I thought weight would be the issue. Although the two are related.

I think he is interested in the lenght because some bullets stabilize better then others due to lenght... I remember seeing huge discussion about .224 sierra 69 grain vs hornady 68 grain it was all about the lenght of the actual bullet not the OAL

Never thought of bullet stability. It sounds like you have done some pioneering research on bullet length. If you cannot find a comprehensive list, maybe you should put up a post asking for everyone to measure the bullets they have, and then the mods could make it a sticky that you can update .. then we would have a very comprehensive list indeed!
