suggestion of Tactical scope for a newbie

Hi everyone,

Newbie here, dont know much about scopes n all. I am looking to buy an M14 soon n maybe an AR style rifle that shoots .308 and i am looking for a tactical looking scope for target shooting.

Thing is , i started looking on the forums and there is just sooo many different brands n soo many different kinds of scopes. So i was hoping to have suggestions from some veteran CGN'ers on what to get.

budget : around 300 $... hoping to get something with variable zoom so i can shoot at 100 and 300 m range.

for the price, falcon are not bad at all
