Suggestion: Sell Type 81 Side Rails As Separate SKU

Just a suggestion, but could TI please stock their side rail for the Kobra mount and the Picatinny mount and side rail as a separate SKUs from the kits.

This would allow for:
  • people who buy the optic ready Type 81 to buy the Kobra rail to act as a thread cover for the pins until they can afford the Kobra optic
  • people who buy the optic ready Type 81 to later buy the Picatianny side rail and adapter without having extra pins and right side safety
  • people who already have a rear stop Eastern Block optic already who previously bought the Type 81 Picatinny Kit to use the Kobra rail with their optic and already installed threaded pins

I know TI will not want to split up kits, so hopefully they can commission a few plates and plate/rail combos from their manufacturing partner.

The Kobra mount TI has created to attach to their Type 81 threaded pins should be equivalent to a universal AK mount if it fits the Kobra, according to one CGNer on another thread.
 
I'd definitely be interested in grabbing one of the 'kobra' plates rather than the whole assembly. They're made here in Canada, right? I would imagine that should make getting extras easier.

Definitely something else. YouTuber GunNutzGuy tried several different AK mounts on the side rail for TI's Picatinny arm, and none fit. Another CGNer got one East Bloc mount to fit after shaving down part of the mount.
 
I believe the optic attachment system is standard ak, how the mount attaches is a differnt story. Ti please list the cobra mounting system seperate.

It is and it isnt as far as i can gather from images. It wont accept SVD optics, and it wont accept "universal" optics and mounts that have the central locking cam. Ex, An AK POSP may fit (although eye relief and height may be off ?) But a 1p76 Rakurs will not fit.

Oh, I see.. I was thinking along the lines of PK-A or PK-AS.. Thanks for the heads up, need to really pay attention to the locking mechanism then.
