I have a CZ611 semi .22 Im looking to have scoped. The bluing is shiny and would like to stick to a gloss scope if possible. Im interested in the Leupold VX1 2-7x28 or the Vortex .22 line. Both are around the $250-$300 mark. I know the Vortex is matt finish.. but Ive heard great things from this site regarding this scope.

The rifle is one beautifull piece. This is the discontinued version and worth some money. Looking to hook her up with a life long friend. Name your choice....

I have a Leupold Rimfire VX-1 on my CZ452. Great scope for hunting. It's light, has a low profile, and pulls in light very well. It comes in matte and gloss finish. I would recommend it. Wholesale Sports has them on sale now for $200! w:h:

The Leupold model that you mentioned and the Redfield 2-7 has no difference as it is the same glass made at the same plant. Vortex HD line up glass is made in Japan and the rest of the glass is made in China. With them being assembeled in the Philipines. There cheapest model though is completely manufactored and assembled in China. There warrenty is good but I would still recommend the Redfield over the lower end Vortex. Plus the Redfield is the only cheap optic that has not only surived the dreaded M14 for more than 500 rounds but also survied a hunt on the Queen Charolettes island were the pasific ocean salt water does a real number to anything metal and it still looks like the day I baught it.
Just some real world food for though.

You really need an compact scope on that beautiful BRNO 611, I have put Leopold 3x9x32 EFR , wich works excelllent on any small scaled rifle, looks appropriate and is ajustable for parallex, Dale Z!

You'll want a scope with parallax adjustment for your rimfire. I've used a Burris Fullfield II on a rimfire before. Great scope for the price but you really notice the lack of parallax adjustment when shooting indoors or at 25 yards etc.

I had the same rifle, the Leupold 4x rimfire special will meet all your needs...I don't know what it is called in the current catalog but they still make it.

I know what you mean. I've tried the Fullfield II on a rimfire rifle before. The Leupold Rimfire models have the parallax set at 60 yards as most .22LR shooting is done at closer ranges. I really like the rimfire model for the lower profile, lighter weight, and it's ability to pull in light while hunting in the dying sunlight.

It's called the FX-1 Rimfire. :) I find the variable scopes more versatile. Low power for in close hunting with the option to turn it up for longer range shots.

2-7 Redfield is a good choice. I use one on a swiss black rifle with good results. So on a .22 it should be good.

How does the new Nikon P-22 stack up against the Leupold or Vortex you're looking at?

The BDC150 reticle is designed specifically for the .22LR cartridge (selectable between both standard-velocity and high-velocity rounds) features hash marks for hold-over shooting points between 50 and 150 yards - which would be very handy on an accurate gun like your CZ.

The parallax is fixed at 50 yds. Does anyone know how much difference in accuracy fixed parallax actually makes compared to AO?
