Suggestions for a 22 lever action for the wife

Hi, I had a browning bl22 in the past . It was a very accurate reliable rifle.

I’m beginning to think the BL II might be the way to go.
- lots of recommendations here
- potentially less warranty issues
- based on pics I’ve seen nice blued receiver, checkered stock etc
- can pick one up new for about a g-note
- should hold its value
- another Win might be a bit redundant

Input much appreciated

The BL22 is sort of in it's own league with the trigger moving attached to the lever and it's short throw. I can flick the lever and work the action with my fingers simply opening my hand without removing my thumb from the wrist of the stock. A child or person with smaller hands might not have the reach but it's an extremely short stroke.

About the only complaint people have with the BL22 is the heavy trigger and more complicated takedown if you wanted to get inside it... you probably never will have to take it apart though!

You should try one if possible.... for a budget of a grand I think the 9422 will hold it's value better. I paid about $350 for my BL-22 (used) but that was 20 years ago.

I have had the BL22 nice short lever throw and the trigger moves with the lever, but the trigger pull was brutal.
I also like the way the magazine tube locks in. But alas is was traded away.
My 9422 is the one I kept.
My buddy bought a Henry 22Mag I never fired it but it is a nice rifle.

You would not regret a Henry lever .22... I prefer the Frontier model, but it depends on how much weight you want to carry. The BL-22 is nice too, I have two of them, but for less money, I prefer the Henry. As for warranty work, good luck with Browning also... at least with Henry, Anthony Imperato is not above lighting a fire under someone's azz to get it done.
